Dr. Maciej Suwala, Neuro-Optometrist at London Vision Training Clinic

Dr. Maciej Suwala

Optometrist

Dr. Maciej Suwala earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo and has been serving patients in London, Ontario since 2008. With over 15 years of experience in optometric care, he founded London Vision Training Clinic in 2017 to meet a growing need for specialized neuro-optometry and vision rehabilitation in the London area.

Dr. Suwala's clinical focus is on complex visual processing challenges and rehabilitative care — helping patients recovering from concussion, brain injury, and other conditions that affect how the brain and eyes work together. His expertise is recognized at the professional level through his role as a Quality Assurance Coach for the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

When he's not in the clinic, Dr. Suwala enjoys photography, golf, and skiing — and finds his greatest fulfillment spending time with his family.

Dr. Susan Buxton, Neuro-Optometrist at London Vision Training Clinic

Dr. Susan Buxton

Optometrist

Dr. Susan Buxton graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry before embarking on an extraordinary four years in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo), where she established and ran optical workshops across the African continent. She trained Zairian nurses to perform eye exams and assisted surgeons during cataract and glaucoma surgery — an experience that shaped her deep commitment to accessible, impactful eye care. Since returning to Canada, she has continued that mission through regular trips to Guyana, South America with the Canadian Vision Care team.

Dr. Buxton moved to London, Ontario in 1992, where she co-founded Byron Optometry. In 2012, she began specializing in neuro-functional optometry, and in 2017 collaborated to open London Vision Training Clinic on Southdale Road. Her clinical focus includes Behavioural Optometry for patients with Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS), helping them retrain their eyes and brain to work together and reclaim lost function.

Dr. Buxton also works with children who struggle in school or have been labelled with learning difficulties, patients with crossed or lazy eyes (strabismus and amblyopia), individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and athletes looking to elevate their visual performance to the next level.
